Dave and Melanie Sills compose the startup leadership team. We’ve been married 18 years and in business together for 13 years. Each having worked in a variety of jobs from fast food in high school to upper management in corporate and private sector jobs, led Melanie down the path to own her own business. She left her corporate job of almost 12 years behind in 2003 to open a The UPS Store franchise and never looked back. That led to a second The UPS Store franchise and, in a weird way through contacts she met through ownership of The UPS Store, the concept for grapevine was born. At that time, Dave left his job and joined in the daily management and operations of all three ventures. After a few years, they decided to sell The UPS Store franchises to focus on grapevine and getting a second location open to prove the business could work again and the end goal was to offer franchises at some point. Much to our delight, our second location ramped up quickly and that led us to begin the franchising process faster than expected.
